Download page as TIFF
To view or save a copy of the current page in TIFF format, click the Download page as TIFF link. A dialog box will open giving you the option to open the file or save it to a location of your choice.
Note: instead of the link above, a link to view a high quality JPEG image appears on the Article Image page for any article from the British Periodicals collections.
View Article as PDF
To view or save a copy of the article in PDF format, click the View Article as PDF link. You can choose whether to view the whole article, or certain pages only.
By default the total number of pages appears in the Page range input box. You can select a range from the article's pages by entering the start and finish of the section as numbers separated by a hyphen. You can also mix individual pages with page ranges, for example, 1,3,5-12. Once you have defined the section of pages to view, click the View article as PDF button.
A new Adobe Acrobat window will open containing your selected pages. You can use the functionality in the Adobe Acrobat window to save, print, zoom etc. The original Periodicals Archive Online window will remain open in the background, and will return to the Article Image page. Close the Adobe Acrobat window when you have completed your task.
Note: instead of the link above, a View Article as PDF (Grayscale/B&W) link appears on the Article Image page for any article from the British Periodicals collections. In this case, you can choose to view a grayscale or black and white version of the PDF by selecting the relevant image option; the black and white version is a smaller file for faster download but the image quality is lower.
Note: it is strongly recommended that you have the latest version of Adobe Reader installed on your computer (Download the latest version of Adobe Reader).
